Dear District School Counseling Director/Supervisor,
We hope you’ve had an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the school(s) in your district who have recently earned the Recognized ASCA Model Program® (RAMP®) designation. This national award recognizes schools committed to delivering a data-informed school counseling program in accordance with The ASCA National Model: A Framework for School Counseling Programs. This professional development experience increases a school counselor’s capacity to communicate how their work with students aligns with their school and district achievement priorities. As you advocate for school counselors, their documented work and results may be a significant resource as you inform and educate other district leaders.
If you haven’t yet seen it, you can view the 2026 RAMP Schools Press Release, which shows the RAMP school name(s) from your district and others in your state, if any. Your school(s) will be honored during a special ceremony at the American School Counselor Association’s Annual Conference on Monday, July 13, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The 2026 RAMP class has an acceptance rate of 75% which includes a total of 208 schools in 34 states who received this national recognition. Since the program’s inception, nearly 1,600 schools across the country have achieved this honor. School counselors at RAMP schools have successfully documented how their work impacts student achievement, attendance, and discipline at their school. You’re encouraged to share their stories about how students have gained valuable learning strategies, self-management skills, and social skills to improve their overall success in school. This is another reason their documented work is excellent supporting evidence for school counseling related presentations to help educational partners better understand the school counselor role and why every student deserves access to a school counselor.
We have shared the press release with school systems all around the country. We also sent a special message to principal(s) to ensure they take advantage of all the benefits associated with being a RAMP school. Learn more about the benefits of being a RAMP school in the RAMP toolkit which also includes social media images you can use to share this success with your community.
The RAMP designation is valid for five years (through the 2030-2031 school year). To maintain the RAMP designation, your school(s) must submit a successful application in October 2030. We are proud of your school counselor(s) and know that you are as well. We look forward to celebrating them in New Orleans, Louisiana.
