High school counselors can register for fall 2026 regional trainings

The Mississippi Department of Education Office of Curriculum and Instruction invites high school counselors (grades 9–12) to attend the fall 2026 regional trainings. These sessions are designed to provide counselors with the latest updates, resources, and strategies to strengthen college, and career readiness support for students.

The training will cover:

  • Updates to the 2026 Mississippi Public School Accountability Standards
  • Upcoming updates to Accountability Standards related to SB 2294 (Personal Finance, Civics, and Computer Science)
  • Understanding the Mississippi graduation requirements and diploma endorsement options
  • Individual Success Plan (ISP) updates and expectations
  • Counselor Code of Ethics
  • Seal of Biliteracy
  • Resources and tools to support students’ mental health
  • Additional information and resources to support high school counselors in their work
