Revised Administrator Professional Growth System standards summer training available

The revised Administrator Professional Growth System standards will be effective with the 2026-2027 school year. Therefore, the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) strongly encourages district teams to participate in a half-day, in-person training focused on the revised Administrator PGS standards and aligned resources.

This session is designed for district teams of 3–5 members and should include at least:

  • One principal supervisor
  • One principal
  • One assistant principal

Each session will focus on practical application of the revised Administrator PGS standards from the perspective of the observer and the individual being observed. Through collaborative discussions and engaging learning activities, participants will:

  • Unpack the revised standards and indicators
  • Build awareness of available resources to support effective administrator observation
  • Analyze sample evidence to support meaningful, growth-focused feedback
  • Develop capacity to replicate the Administrator PGS training within their respective districts

Training sessions will be offered on the following dates, times, and locations at no cost to the district. Districts are encouraged to register as a team of 3-5 members initially; however, additional administrators may register on a first come basis within one week of the training date.
