Beginning in August, the Mississippi Department of Education Office of Curriculum and Instruction will launch The Primary Source, a monthly webinar series for social studies teachers. Each webinar will feature host Al Wheat, K12 Social Studies Director, speaking with an expert on a social studies-related topic, who will also introduce teachers to primary sources on the subject. Each episode will conclude with time for Q&A with the guest.
The webinars will run August through December, taking place on the third Tuesday of each month from 4-5 p.m. Educators who attend all five sessions can receive 0.5 CEUs. The schedule and topics are listed below.
