Districts and Schools of Innovation meetings set for Sept. 14, Sept. 22; Intent-to-apply deadline extended to Aug. 31

Dear Superintendent or Administrator:

You and your leadership team are invited to attend one of the upcoming 2026 Districts and Schools of Innovation Regional Meetings, designed to support districts and schools at every stage of the Innovation process. While these meetings are required for district or school teams seeking to gain, renew, or amend District or School of Innovation status, the meetings are open to current Districts or Schools of Innovation and to any other district or school that is considering applying or just want to learn more. These meetings will provide a valuable opportunity to learn, collaborate, and connect with colleagues from across Mississippi who are committed to creating innovative learning opportunities for all students. Attendees will begin the development or refinement of Innovative applications, renewals, or amendments during these meetings in a space where real-time feedback and guidance can be provided.

This session will provide practical guidance, resources, and networking opportunities to support your work, whether your district or school is:

  • Exploring Innovation status for the first time
  • Preparing a new application
  • Seeking renewal of an existing designation
  • Developing an addendum to an approved plan
  • Currently designated as a District or School of Innovation
