MDE announces September regional literacy meetings for families of K-3 students

Looking for strategies to improve reading for K-3 students? Join us for regional family nights. Strong readers, strong leaders in Mississippi

The Mississippi Department of Education announces a series of regional literacy meetings across the state in September for families of students in kindergarten through third grade. These meetings will provide an overview of state literacy and assessment requirements under the Literacy-Based Promotion Act (LBPA), which emphasizes prevention and intervention to help students develop the reading skills needed for success in fourth grade.

Families will learn practical strategies to support their children’s reading development at home, recognizing the critical role families play in student literacy success.

Session times at all locations is 6-7 p.m. No registration is required.
