The Mississippi Department of Education Office of Curriculum and Instruction Division of Mathematics Coaching is seeking highly qualified applicants for Elementary (K-6) Mathematics Coach Educator in Residence (EIR) positions.
The Division of Mathematics Coaching is responsible for supporting and training K-6th grade teachers, curriculum specialists, and other educators by providing evidence-based instructional strategies for mathematics. Passed during the 2026 legislative session, the Moving Math in Mississippi (M3) imitative prioritizes grade-level reading instruction as students encounter increasingly complex text in 4th – 8th grades. By emphasizing grade-level literacy instruction and targeted support, the initiative seeks to ensure that students remain on track academically during the middle grades. The initiative recognizes that strong mathematics skills are foundational to success in high school, higher education, and future careers, making this developmental stage vital for long-term achievement.
The deadline for receipt of October 2026 EIR Math Coach Applications is on or before Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. Central Standard Time (CST).
