The Mississippi Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (MAHPERD) Summer Workshop is set for Monday, July 20, in Starkville at Mississippi State University’s Jim and Thomas Duff Center.
The theme is Teaching With Purpose: Enhancing Student Learning in Standards-based Physical Education.
Sessions will include:
• Meaningful physical education curriculum aligned with standards
• Assessment strategies to improve fitness and physical literacy
• Advocacy and promotion of schoolwide physical activity
What to expect: Engaging, hands-on sessions, networking opportunities, and practical strategies you can take straight back to your classroom.
Professional learning on the updated national standards and how to effectively implement them in your PE classes will be provided.
