Alternative Education Self-Assessment

Pursuant to the Mississippi Code of 1972, Section 37-13-92, the school boards of all school districts shall establish, maintain and operate, in connection with the regular programs of the school district, an alternative school program and/or behavior modification program as defined by the State Board of Education, Chapter 7: Alternate Education Programs, Rule 7.1 Guidelines

The Office of Compulsory School Attendance Enforcement has revised the Alternative Education Self-Assessment Evaluation (AESAE), linked below. The evaluation has been reformatted and is now available to all districts through Microsoft Office Forms, allowing for submission tracking and supports accurate data tabulation and aggregation. The AESAE is designed to collect programmatic information and does not collect data related to any individual student. All school districts must complete the self-assessment evaluation, including those participating in a consortium

Alternative Education Program Evaluation

As a reminder, the Mississippi Code of 1972 Annotated, §37-13-92, requires an Alternative Education Evaluation Self-Assessment to be completed by each school district annually. Utilizing the link above, assessments should be submitted to the Office of Compulsory School Attendance Enforcement no later than Friday, July 24, 2020.  Failure to comply may result a in citation under Accreditation Standard 22.
