Join Marketplace’s Bridget Bodnar, Director of Podcasts and co-host of Million Bazillion, and Donna Tam, along with Becky Smith, Ph.D., FFC, of Mississippi State University Extension’s Center for Economic Education and Financial Literacy, for an engaging exploration of podcasting, financial literacy, and student creativity.
Go behind the scenes to discover how youth-focused financial literacy podcasts come to life from choosing compelling questions to researching, reporting, and crafting stories that make money and economics understandable. Explore how these same skills can help students investigate financial topics, deepen their understanding, and share what they learn through their own content.
Together, we’ll connect content creation with classroom instruction and examine some of the economic and financial topics dominating “FinTok,” TikTok’s financial content community. Teachers will explore ways to help students evaluate sources, question financial claims, and navigate their social feeds with greater confidence while making learning relevant, creative, and fun.
