Teachers can register by Aug. 19 for Fostering Civil Discourse Through the Lens of Economics and the American Founding workshop

The Mississippi Council on Economic Education will host the Fostering Civil Discourse Through the Lens of Economics and the American Founding professional development workshop for middle and high school teachers from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22. Deadline to register is noon Aug. 19.

Description: This session will inspire educators to re-examine the foundation of the United States as more than a fight for political freedom, but one for economic freedom. Educators will engage with hands-on, ready-to-teach materials to examine the Declaration of Independence through an economic lens and relate the economic grievances of the founding to today.

Where: Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi
