Senate Bill 2294 is helping Mississippi schools strengthen reading for students in grades 4-8 and mathematics instruction for students in grades K-5 by providing earlier support, evidence-based instruction, and stronger systems to help every student succeed. To support schools in implementing these new requirements, the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) is offering a comprehensive professional learning series.

This three-day series offers practical, job-embedded learning for administrators, reading specialists, math support staff, and teachers (ELA, science, and social studies grades 4-8 and math K-5). Participants will build the knowledge and skills needed to successfully implement key SB 2294 requirements, including:
- Universal screening
- Data-informed instruction
- Individualized student plans
- Evidence-based interventions
- High-quality Tier I adolescent literacy, science, social studies and math instruction
- Progress monitoring
Throughout the series, participants will receive practical tools, resources, and implementation strategies they can use immediately to strengthen local systems, improve instruction, and support student success.
