Reconstruction teacher workshop set for June 24-26

The Mississippi Department of Archives and History will host a teacher workshop June 24-26, focusing on the Reconstruction era in Mississippi.

Participants will work with historians and education specialists to explore the history and impact of Reconstruction through scholarly discussion and experiential field trips to museums and other relevant sites. Throughout the workshop, participants will collect and analyze primary sources that will inform the development of educational resources related to the project’s themes and the enduring significance of Reconstruction.

The workshop will take place at the Two Mississippi Museums and other Mississippi Department of Archives and History sites. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are included. Space is limited, and the workshop is free for those selected to participate.
