The second episode of The Primary Source webinar series will be hosted via Teams at 4 p.m. April 15. The Primary Source features the Mississippi Department of Education’s K12 Social Studies Director Al Wheat in conversation with experts and scholars on social studies topics, discussing their specialties while providing primary sources and strategies for K12 teachers to use in the classroom.
April’s episode will feature Dr. Andrew Wiest, distinguished professor of history and founding director of the Dale Center for the Study of War and Society at the University of Southern Mississippi. Dr. Wiest will discuss the Vietnam War, particularly focusing on oral histories and personal accounts of American soldiers during the conflict.
