Mississippi Reads One Book is a family engagement program offered by Read to Them, in partnership with the Mississippi Campaign for Grade-Level Reading. This program is a school-wide reading event, where students and their families, faculty, and staff read the same book together. In Mississippi, we encourage participating schools and districts to plan the reading event during the 2020-21 academic year when it is convenient within the school calendar. According to research, programs that engage families in supporting their children’s learning at home are linked to higher student achievement, better attendance, and better social skills.
