Beginning in the 2015-16 school year, the state of Mississippi and Microsoft made industry-recognized certifications accessible to 120 Mississippi schools and CTC’s across the state. During the past two years of the program 422 Microsoft Office Specialist and Microsoft Technology Associate certifications have been achieved, up from 62 prior to 2015. Certifications help to increase job readiness and employability skills in high-demand STEM and IT fields. The timing of this program could not be better, as there were over 1,400 Mississippi jobs posted in February requiring Microsoft skills.
