MDE Releases the Early Learning Collaborative Request for Proposals Due July 1

The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE), Office of Early Childhood (OEC), received additional funding from the Mississippi Legislature to support 4-year-old children in high-quality pre-K classrooms.

The OEC has released a new Request for Proposals for competitive written applications for Cohort V of the Early Learning Collaboratives.  The purpose of the Early Learning Collaboratives is to provide funding to local communities to establish, expand, support, and facilitate the successful implementation of high-quality early childhood education and development services. The voluntary pre-K program is intended to improve quality and increase access to high-quality pre-K programs for four-year-old children. Required partners for this grant include a public school and a Head Start (if in existence and one is in every county).

The application is due on July 1, 2022 by 2:00 p.m.
