The Mississippi Book Festival invites students in grades 3–8 to participate in a special virtual KidNote featuring Kate McKinnon, an award-winning comedian, actor, bestselling author, and former Saturday Night Live cast member. The Zoom webinar is set for 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25. Registration is required.
During this free virtual event, McKinnon will entertain and inspire young readers while introducing The Jungle of Carabanana, the hilarious conclusion to her Millicent Quibb School of Etiquette for Young Ladies of Mad Science series. Students will follow the three peculiar Porch sisters and their mentor, Millicent Quibb, on another wildly imaginative adventure filled with mad science, mystery, humor, and plenty of mischief.
This is a great opportunity for teachers and school librarians to bring an award-winning author directly into the classroom or library and build excitement around reading.
