The Mississippi Department of Education’s Office of Professional Development will host a free, in-person back-to-school conference titled Setting the Stage for Student Success from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. July 19-21 at the Jackson State University R & D Center, 3825 Ridgewood Road, Jackson, MS 39211. Deadline to apply is July 18.
This summer professional development conference is geared toward K-12 general and special education teachers. Sessions will include the following topics to ensure all students have a successful school year: Day 1—academic content; Day 2—classroom culture; and Day 3—strategies for struggling learners. Conference participants may register to attend one, two or all three days of the conference and may earn .6, 1.2, or 1.8 CEUs for attending.
