The Mississippi Department of Education seeks public comment on the revision of State Board Policy Chapter 1, Rules 1.2 and 1.3.
On April 29, 2026, the State Board of Education (SBE) granted approval to begin the Administrative Procedures Act (APA) process to amend State Board Policy Chapter 1, Rules 1.2 and 1.3. These amendments to the policy are to align with state law and state board policy , as well revising and clarifying reporting processes and responsibilities.

All public comments must be received in the Office of Public Reporting no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2026. APA Comments will be presented to the SBE on June 18, 2026.
