EDLA Program Technical Assurances REVISED

Dear Superintendents,

The MDE has prepared several items for your attention as you develop your digital learning plans under the Equity in Digital Learning Act (EDLA / S.B.3044):

  1. To view the recording of last Thursday’s Webinar (8/13), please visit https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/recording/6658436118548017154.
  2. The MDE has revised and attached the following:
    1. The EDLA Application Form
    2. The Digital Learning Plan Templates (adjusting cell format to allow text wrapping)
  3. The MDE as prepared Technical Assurances for the EDLA Program (beyond the Assurances in the EDLA Application Form).  Please note that according to “Equity in Digital Learning Act” (SB3044) directs the MDE to “Solicit bid proposals from vendors to establish an [Express Products List] EPL” and to “expedite the compilation of an EPL and to minimize the cost of relevant devices or other technology for school districts through bulk purchasing.”  Accordingly, with the execution of the MDE vendor contracts for this program that establishes the EPL, no outside purchases for equivalent devices will be approved for reimbursement.
  4. The MDE has calculated districts’ Final Allocations under the EDLA. To view your district’s final allocation, which will be in the Equity in Distance Learning Implementation: Final Allocation document, please go to the new District Access SharePoint Online site and select your district from the navigation bar across the top. Once in your district’s SharePoint Online site, look in the “Digital Learning” document library. NOTE: You should have received an invitation to your district’s new SharePoint Online site from gauravmasram@mdek12.org. If you do not have access to your district’s SharePoint Online site, or to the “Digital Learning” document library, please send an email to mailto:survey@mdek12.orgso that we can resend your invitation or adjust your rights.
