People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported, ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:
- Fever or chills
- Shortness of breath of difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- New or worsening cough, runny nose, congestion or headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
School health screening questions may include:
- Have you had any of these symptoms in the last 24 hours?
- Have you come in contact with someone who is COVID-19 positive (or is awaiting a COVID-19 test) in the last 14 days?
- Does anyone in your household have any of these symptoms?
If the answer to any of these questions is YES, you should stay at home.
