Math Missions contest enters week 2 to help prepare students for MAAP math assessment

The Mississippi Department of Education is announcing the results from the first week of the MAAP Math Assessment Missions Madness Contest with PAPER.

This month-long contest allows students to practice Mississippi College and Career Readiness Standards-aligned math problems (grades 3 – 8 and Algebra I) with a PAPER tutor.

Phil Cutler, PAPER’s chief executive officer, would like to personally congratulate the six districts at the top of the leader board for week 1 from each region of the state:

SMEC – South Pike School District  (43,000 missions completed)

GCEIC – Hancock County School District (13,000 missions completed)

DAAIS – South Delta School District (10,000 missions completed)

EMCED – Meridian Public School District (10,000 missions completed)

S-RESA – Jones County School District (8,000 missions completed)

NMEC – Chickasaw County School District (7,000 missions completed)

All students in participating school districts are invited to enter the contest, which continues throughout March.

The top three students with the most math missions completed in each of the six regions of the state will win a box full of swag.  Those 18 students across the state will have a prize box delivered to their school.

The contest ends at 11:59 p.m. March 31.  Local level support is also available by contacting the Customer Success Manager (CSM) in your region. See flyer  March 2023 MAAP Math Mission Madness Flyer for details.
