Don’t miss the opportunity to join us at the 6th Annual Virtual Innovative Leadership Summit on Monday, February 8, 2021, from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.  The Research and Curriculum Unit, in partnership with the Mississippi Department of Education, is inviting school leaders, counselors, teacher leaders, and educational stakeholders from across the state to learn with us.  The last day to register for the Summit is Friday, February 5th.  CEUs (.6) and SEMIs (5) will be offered upon approval by MDE and completion of required seat time.

NASA astronaut Chris Cassidy (Keynote)

  • Cassidy will deliver the keynote address for the conference, sharing experiences from his career as a U.S. Navy SEAL and NASA astronaut. Cassidy, who became NASA’s 14th chief astronaut, is a veteran of three space flights to the International Space Station, spending 378 days in space and completing 10 spacewalks. In 2009, he was the 500th person in history to fly into space, serving as the mission specialist aboard Space Shuttle Endeavour. Cassidy has served as a U.S. Navy Seal for 11 years and received the Bronze Star with combat ‘V’ and the Presidential Unit Citation.  He achieved the rank of captain in 2014.

Glo founders Hagan Walker and Anna Barker (Featured Speakers)

  • Walker and Barker, graduates of MSU’s colleges of engineering and business, respectively, will be featured speakers discussing the Starkville-based startup company that began in 2015 as a student project through MSU’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Outreach. Since its launch, Glo has sold more than 3 million products in nearly 40 countries. The company recently launched Glo Pals, a line of children’s sensory toys that is carried by thousands of retailers worldwide, including Nordstrom, Macy’s, and Uncommon Goods. A portion of every Glo Pals purchase is donated directly to Batson Children’s Hospital and Children’s of Mississippi.
