During the month of November, Mississippi Poet Laureate Catherine Pierce will visit with classes via Zoom to talk about the My Town Mississippi Poetry Project and writing contest. Time slots are for 30 minutes. If you would like to schedule an hour-long session, please simply reserve two back-to-back slots. You will receive a Zoom link before your scheduled session.
During these visits, Catherine will give an overview of the project and answer any questions students or teachers have. She is also happy to lead classes in a writing session for the project and/or answer more general student questions about poetry.
These visits are open to all grade levels and teachers across Mississippi until slots are filled and are entirely optional. You don’t need to sign up for a class visit in order to participate in the My Town Mississippi Poetry Project. Visits are being offered as an additional resource.
