The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) has maintained its existing requirements for teaching the College and Career Readiness (CCR) course. Educators holding a valid secondary (7–12) teaching license are eligible to instruct CCR without the necessity of additional endorsements. While the 942 CCR endorsement is available, it is not a prerequisite for teaching the course. This endorsement is granted to educators who successfully complete the Mississippi Council on Economic Education’s (MCEE) Master Teacher of College and Career Readiness program. To qualify for this program, teachers must be currently teaching the CCR course or be scheduled to teach it in the forthcoming academic year.
Mississippi educators have two excellent professional development options this summer to strengthen their delivery of the CCR course.
