Transformational Leadership meetings for school improvement begin in January

The Mississippi Department of Education Office of School Improvement in partnership with the Research and Curriculum Unit at Mississippi State University will offer interactive and engaging Transformational Leadership: Investing in School Leaders, Teachers, Instruction, and Culture meetings in Flowood, Hattiesburg and Oxford beginning in January that have been developed to enhance the leadership skills of administrators, and district-level leaders supporting continuous improvement. The sessions explore various aspects of leadership development with a specific focus on the four domains of school improvement aligned to the design principles for innovative schools. The research practices of implementation science will be embedded in the training sessions with each school team being supported in the development and/or sustainability of personalized actions for continuous improvement.

Participating schools are asked to convene a team consisting of the principal, interventionist, lead teacher, school improvement facilitator/federal programs director and curriculum director. Teams will be asked to attend each session in the same region where registered. While this professional learning is required for more rigorous options CSI schools, any identified school (ATSI, TSI, or CSI) and any non-identified school rated below C may participate. Informational Session Recording and Slide Deck
