Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS) Mississippi, a member of the Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources Consortium, provides short- and long-term professional development across the state. TPS Mississippi will present on six different topics, including an overview of the resources available at the Library of Congress online and five different pedagogical strategies for teaching primary sources. The strategies include visual discovery, corroboration, circle of viewpoints/multiple perspectives, writing for understanding, and the explanation game. These sessions are useful for social studies, English Language Arts, elementary, and gifted educators.
