The Stock Market Game Workshop professional development for 4th-12th grade teachers in Title 1 schools is set for Sept. 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Delta State University. Registration deadline is Sept. 23 at noon.
The Stock Market Game™ is a project-based financial education program widely used in 4th through 12th-grade classrooms nationwide to teach students the importance of saving and investing by building their financial literacy skills through an integrated curriculum and investing online market simulation. Student teams receive a virtual cash account of $100,000 to create an investment portfolio comprised of bonds, common stocks listed on national exchanges, exchange traded funds, and mutual funds with the goal of developing portfolios that outperform portfolios of other student teams. The Stock Market Game™ teaches students cooperation, communication, and leadership skills as they relate to long-term saving and investing knowledge to financial news and current events.
