The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) Office of Secondary Education, in partnership with the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB), will host teacher trainings for the SREB Essentials for College courses this summer. These trainings are required for teachers who will be teaching an SREB Essentials for College course in ELA/Literacy or Math during the 2023-2024 school year who have NOT attended the training in previous years. These virtual trainings will be provided at no-cost to public school teachers in Mississippi. Teachers must currently have a license #119 for the ELA/Literacy or a license #154 for Math.
To allow for various scheduling constraints, teachers can choose from two three-day sessions. Each subject-area session will accommodate 70 participants. The dates for the sessions are:
Session I- July 11-13
Session II-July 25-27
*Teachers will need to sign up for only one of the sessions with the attached link.
