Reviewers needed for textbook adoption process in several content areas; Apply by April 4

The Mississippi Department of Education defines High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) as materials that are aligned to the Mississippi College-and Career-Readiness Standards, externally validated, comprehensive, and which include engaging texts (books, multimedia, etc.), problems, and assessments. The Offices of Elementary Education and Reading, Secondary Education, Career and Technical Education, and Instructional Materials and Library Services are seeking qualified individuals to serve as reviewers for the 2025-2026 Textbook Adoption process.

The following content areas are seeking reviewers:

  • Health
    • GR K-8
    • GR 9-12
  • Physical Education
    • GR K-8
    • GR 9-12
  • Science
    • GR K-2
    • GR 3-5
    • GR 6-8
    • Biology, AP Biology, Foundations of Biology, and Foundations of Science Literacy
    • Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Physics, and AP Physics
    • Earth and Space Science, Environmental Science, Physical Science, and AP Physical Science
    • Genetics and Human Anatomy and Physiology
    • Marine and Aquatic Science I and II and Zoology I and II
  • Career and Technical Education
    • Arts, Entertainment, and Design – Multimedia
    • Healthcare and Human Services – Health Science, Healthcare and Clinical Services, and Sports Medicine
    • Energy and Natural Resources – Energy
    • Digital Technology – Unmanned Aircraft Systems
