Registration open for Enhancing Instructional Leadership in science of reading course

The Mississippi Department of Education’s Division of Literacy announces that registration is open for the asynchronous course Enhancing Instructional Leadership: The Science of Reading and Effective Learning Walk Protocols. This course equips school leaders with the tools and knowledge to observe and support evidence-based literacy instruction using the MDE K-3 Learning Walk Protocol, focusing on Science of Reading practices like structured literacy, instructional strategies, classroom environment, HQIM, writing instruction, and small group literacy stations.

Participants will develop a strong understanding of the Science of Reading and how to use observational tools to improve classroom literacy teaching.

The course is offered in three 10-week sessions starting September 2025, December 2025, and March 2026. Contact us with any questions.
