The Mississippi State University Research and Curriculum Unit, in partnership with the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE), is excited to announce that registration and calls for proposals for the 2021 virtual Innovative Institute are now open!
The Innovative Institute offers opportunities for secondary professional educators and community leaders to explore, discuss, and highlight innovative ideas and techniques that provide equitable, rigorous, and personalized learning for all students.
Beth Houf, co-author of “Lead Like a PIRATE: Make School Amazing for Your Students and Staff,” will provide the keynote address for this year’s conference that will be held online June 14-15. This year’s theme is Mission: Innovation. Cost for the conference is $50. CEU, SEMI, and OSL credits will be offered upon approval by the MDE.

We invite you to submit a proposal to present at the Innovative Institute. Submitted proposals should focus on, but are not limited to:
- Advocacy efforts/policy development
- Developing leaders
- Equity and excellence
- Learning communities and networks
- Social-emotional learning (SEL)
- Online, blended, or hybrid teaching and learning
- Educational technology
- Classroom management
- College and career readiness
Each session should be 50 minutes in length. Proposals should reflect high levels of engagement that can include reading, writing, thinking, and talking. To submit a proposal, please click here. The deadline to submit proposals is Wednesday, April 14.
