Register now for Strengthening Writing Through Common Language and Practice professional learning set for November

The Mississippi Department of Education’s Division of Literacy is now accepting registration for the in-person training, Strengthening Writing Through Common Language and Practice. This one-day session for educators and administrators focuses on improving literacy instruction through effective writing strategies.

The morning session covers the use of the MAAP writing rubric across all grade levels, exploring its purpose, key domains, and writing modes (narrative, informational, argumentative), along with strategies for consistent feedback and annotation.

In the afternoon, participants will join breakout sessions based on their adopted HQIM to deepen their focus on purposeful writing.
