Public comment, 3 virtual regional feedback meetings set for January on revised Mississippi Perkins V State Plan to include work-based learning

Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases, the public comment meetings regarding the proposed changes to the Perkins V State Plan have been moved to a virtual format.  The meeting links and additional information are located at https://www.mdek12.org/SSE/PerkinsV.

The Mississippi Perkins V Taskforce recommended revising The Mississippi Perkins V State Plan to include work-based learning as a measure of CTE program quality beginning in the 2022-2023 school year.  The State Board of Education voted to begin the required public comment period Dec. 16, 2021.  The proposed changes to the plan are highlighted in the following document:

Public comments regarding the proposed revisions to The Mississippi Perkins V State Plan may be submitted through 5 p.m. Feb. 16, to mssucceeds@mdek12.org.

Three regional feedback meetings have been scheduled for stakeholders to ask questions and provide feedback regarding the revisions to The Mississippi Perkins V State Plan.

The virtual meeting dates and times are as follows:

January 11
3 – 4:30 p.m.

January 13
3 – 4:30 p.m.

January 18
4 – 5:30 p.m.
