Proposals are being accepted for the 2nd Annual Purple Star USA National Convening of Schools and Communities, held virtually on Thursday, Oct. 26, National Day of the Deployed. What better time to shine the light on the needs of military-connected youth and families. Training session proposals addressing the latest research findings, cutting-edge program successes, lessons learned, or problems solved are requested.
Attendees will include administrators and liaisons from existing Purple Star programs, as well as interested non-Purple Star school staff, state agency representatives, Military Interstate Compact Commission representatives, military service providers, military-connected youth, families and community members.
To ensure diverse representation, individuals and organizations from a variety of settings are invited, including academia, non-profit, private sector, government agencies, healthcare systems, and provider agencies, as well as youth and families who have lived experience, to submit proposals for presentations focused on building resiliency for military-connected youth and families.
