Limited slots are available for schools to book a PROM (Please Return on Monday) program. PROM is a public awareness campaign created by the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services (MDRS) in 2018 in partnership with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) that encourages prom-bound students to understand the “full-circle” of consequences when choosing to drink and drive, text and drive and/or not buckle up.
The goal of PROM is to help ensure that every student makes it back home and returns to school safely. The program encourages students to “Please Return on Monday -in the same condition you left. Your choices today impact your tomorrow.” The program is free.
There are limited slots for PROM programs, and they will be booked on a first-come/first-served basis. To see about scheduling a PROM program, which lasts 45 minutes to one hour, please contact the MDRS Office of Communications at oc@mdrs.ms.gov. Free PROM posters to schools can be requested at the same email.
If you do not wish to book an in-person program but would still be able to show the MDRS/MHP created Please Return on Monday video (runs under :30/apx :27) to an assembly or during a classroom period, here is a link to the video on YouTube: PROM: Mississippi School Resource Video – YouTube
MDRS and MHP would love for you to share with them if you are planning to show the video. Just shoot them a quick email to oc@mdrs.ms.gov.
