The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) is pleased to announce that on-demand tutoring with Paper has resumed across the state.
On May 16, 2025, the MDE received an approval notice after the U.S. Department of Education’s (ED) careful consideration and review of all information submitted by the MDE related to this ESSER-ARP funded initiative. The approval notice provided that MDE sufficiently described how on-demand tutoring services with Paper directly mitigates the effects of COVID on Mississippi students’ education and sufficiently justified why ED should exercise its discretion and grant MDE’s request.
As a result of this approval, tutoring services will resume for all participating districts until Sept. 30, 2025. This includes all districts that had active accounts prior to the temporary suspension issued to states in March, and those that opted-in voluntarily during the month of April.
If you have any questions for the MDE, please contact Dr. Marla Davis at mdavis@mdek12.org. If you have any questions for Paper, please contact Shelby Godfrey at Shelby.Godfrey@paper.co.
