Mississippi high school educators now have access to 13 online courses thanks to a grant awarded to the Mississippi State University Research and Curriculum Unit through the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Fund. The RCU partnered with some of Mississippi’s educators to produce quality online courses that are specifically aligned to the Mississippi curriculum framework.
The following courses were launched this fall: AP Computer Science; Biology I; College and Career Readiness English I, II, III, and IV; Chemistry; Exploring Computer Science; Foundations of Algebra; Foundations of Biology; U.S. History from Post-Reconstruction to Present; U.S. Government; and World History from Age of Enlightenment to Present.
All courses will provide informational videos, presentations, assignments, assessments, and a teacher resource guide to ensure student and teacher understanding. All the resources found within the course will also be available for teacher download. This will provide all educators the opportunity to adapt the resources for traditional and/or virtual use.
Districts who are interested in gaining access to these free courses are encouraged to designate one representative to contact the RCU at helpdesk@rcu.msstate.edu
