Touring Productions

New Stage will offer the follow touring productions: Who Are You Calling Ugly? A Modern Day Duck Tale (best suited for elementary audiences), Macbeth by William Shakespeare (best suited for middle and high school audiences), and If Not Us, Then Who? Freedom Rides to Freedom Summer (best suited for middle and high school audiences). Workshops & Residencies
New Stage offers a series of workshops and residencies for your classroom for $250 an hour without a performance or $150 if booked in conjunction with a performance. Special rates are available for one-day to five-day residencies. Workshops available include Creative Drama, Basic Acting, Stand Up With Shakespeare, Dramatizing Stories, and Stage Combat. Teacher Workshops are available for schools as staff professional development. We can customize a workshop or residency to fit your needs. Classes at the Theatre

New Stage offers classes for students of all ages:

The Littles class serves students 1st-3rd grades on Saturday mornings from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Students will be guided through the building blocks of theatre technique by building a script from scratch. Classes will be structured to work on character development, acting technique, and storytelling to create a showcase of an original script. Cost: $150

The Middles class serves students 4th-6th grades on Saturday mornings from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Students will explore theatre technique through dramatizing story of age-appropriate literary favorites. Through group discussions of relevant themes and critical analysis of the literary work, students will create a showcase of an original script through dramatization exercises focusing on character development and storytelling. Cost: $150

Youth: On Camera with Turner Crumbley, November and December 2019 for four weeks—5:15 to 6:15 p.m.-$150.

Adults: On Camera with Turner Crumbley, November and December 2019 for four weeks—6:45 to 8:45 p.m.-$200.

Turner Crumbley has spent the last twenty years acting in film, television, and theatre. His movie credits include appearances opposite Academy Award Winner Brie Larson in 21 Jump Street, Mark Wahlberg in Contraban, Academy Award Winner Holly Hunter in Strange Weather. Additional credits: Bad Moms and the forthcoming Easy Does It. In addition to directing New Stage’s A Christmas Story: The Musical and its 50th Anniversary production of A Christmas Carol, Turner has written, produced, and directed short films, commercials, and instructional videos for companies both in and outside Mississippi.
