To High School Counselors, Principals, and Assistant Principals:
Mississippi Valley State University (MVSU) is inviting you to a free informational session about its new initiative, the Scholar Sphere Summer Leadership & Development Program. to share how it can create meaningful opportunities for your students.
Expanding Access for All Students
At MVSU, we believe that higher education should not be limited by a single test score or GPA. Scholar Sphere provides an alternative pathway into a four-year university for students who may not meet traditional admission criteria at many other institutions.
Through our Summer Development Program (Track 1), these students can strengthen their foundational skills in English, mathematics, and study strategies, while also adjusting to campus life in a supportive environment. This ensures that more students from your community can enter and succeed at a four-year university.
Opportunities for College-Ready Students
Unlike previous programs, Scholar Sphere also includes a Track 2 program designed for fully admitted, college-ready students. These students will:
- Begin their college classes early through summer enrollment.
- Take on leadership responsibilities as Peer Tutors, Peer Pals, and Program Ambassadors.
- Build confidence, support their peers, and enhance their own academic journey.
Why This Matters
We believe that every student should have a place in the sphere of higher education. Scholar Sphere bridges the gap between readiness and opportunity, ensuring that all Mississippi students whether in need of development or already college-ready have a supportive, intentional pathway to success.
We invite you to join us at our upcoming informational meet, greet, and brunch, where we will provide details about how Scholar Sphere works and how your students can benefit. We also encourage you to share this opportunity with your students and families so they can take advantage of this new pathway into higher education.
