Mississippi School Resource Officer School Law and Procedure Course available; Register by Dec. 20

The Mississippi Department of Education, Division of School Safety, is hosting an eight-hour School Resource Officer (SRO) course from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 6, 2025. The deadline to register is Dec. 20, 2024.

This course is for any officer who has completed the 40-hour NASRO Basic Course and still needs their mandatory eight-hour Mississippi School Resource Officer School Law and Procedure Course to complete their Mississippi SRO certification.

The MDE Legal Course now requires the following prerequisites to attend the class.
After registering for the class, please send a copy of the following certificates:

  • A full time Mississippi Law Enforcement certificate issued by Department of Public Safety/Minimum Standards and Training
  • FEMA-ICS 100/200/700/800 certificates (Classes may be taken online)
  • ALERRT Level # 1 within the last three years
  • NASRO SRO Basic Course certificate
