Mississippi Hearing-Vision Project offering free online training

Do you have learners with complex needs? Need SEMIs/OSL or CEU credit?

Mississippi Hearing-Vision Project (MHVP) is offering free online training for educators, paraprofessionals, related service providers and administrators.

Registration is now open for joining the free online newcomer cohort using the Open Hands Open Access (OHOA) Deaf-Blind Modules in intervention for individuals having both hearing and vision impairments and complex learning needs. Register at usmuw.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_b7b9EOh5bbfnM6a.

Complete each Module in about seven hours on your own time during the scheduled time period.

Earn 15 SEMI Credits or 1 OSL Credit or 2.3 CEUs by completing the newcomers’ set of three modules (23 hours of module engagement).

Newcomers’ Set of Modules (Cohort 11, Set 1J) includes:

Welcome and Orientation Module

Module 1: Overview of Deafblindness and Instructional Strategies

Module 2: Sensory Systems, Brain and Learning

Module 4: Building Trusting Relationships and Positive Self-Image

Newcomers’ Modules’online kick-off will be held Monday, Sept. 8, at 4 p.m. when modules will be opened.

The deadline to complete the full set of Newcomer Modules is October 21.
