Mississippi Education Policy Fellowship Program 2023-24 application window now open

Applications to  the Mississippi Education Policy Fellowship Program for 2023-24 are now open.

For 25 years, the Mississippi Education Policy Fellowship Program (EPFP) has been bringing together P-12 and higher education leaders, practitioners, and advocates for a nine-month long professional development program focusing on working together to advance equitable policies for Mississippi’s students. Housed at the Social Science Research Center at Mississippi State University, Mississippi EPFP creates meaningful opportunities for education practitioners, advocates, scholars, and stakeholders to come together to learn about education policy.

Through program activities, Mississippi EPFP Fellows:

  • Develop deeper understanding of current local, state, and national education policy design and implementation with a focus on educational equity
  • Learn about rural education contexts and the unique policy needs of rural educational settings, like those in most of Mississippi
  • Build knowledge and skills to engage in effective advocacy, including the skills to deal effectively with the people and institutions that shape public policy
  • Strengthen leadership skills and build capacity to work effectively in collaborative settings
  • Build networks of diverse professionals to advance your own work and the work of education advocacy.

Mississippi EPFP Fellows are professionals who have a direct interest in education policy from early childhood through higher education. This includes administrators, educators and higher education professionals as well as individuals from non-profit, community-based, and business organizations and social service agencies.
