MDE seeks teachers to serve on various MAAP committees; Apply by May 9

The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) Office of Student Assessment (OSA) is seeking qualified teachers to serve on Mississippi Academic Assessment Program (MAAP) various committees for Grades 3-8 ELA and Math teachers and End of Course (EOC) Algebra I and English II teachers.

The deadline to apply is 12:00 p.m., Friday, May 9.

Potential Participants MUST:

  • Have a valid teaching license, an appropriate endorsement, or special bias qualifications;
  • Be employed by a Mississippi Public School District;
  • Be willing to work with secure information with strict security regulations and signed confidentiality forms;
  • Be present for ALL assigned committee meeting dates and times; and
  • Be able to travel to a designated meeting location as needed for face-to-face meetings or be able to meet in a secure, quiet virtual location with a reliable internet connection and access to Zoom (web cameras are required for participation).

If an individual is selected, the individual will be notified by Data Recognition Corporation (DRC) with more detailed information regarding the committee.

  • If the committee is “in-person,” travel (including lodging if participant lives more than 75 miles from Jackson, Mississippi) and substitute teacher reimbursement will be covered by DRC .
  • Depending on the participant’s district contractual status, a daily stipend ($150 per day) may be available.
  • CEU applications for professional development hours may be available upon completion of committee requirements.
