MDE Offers Free Face-to-Face and Online Professional Development

The Mississippi Department of Education’s Office of Professional Development is excited to announce an update to its Menu of Services. These free professional development opportunities are provided directly to districts/schools who need additional support in the areas of ELA, mathematics, special education, and science. Several new options – including cross curricular offerings – have been added. In addition, multi-day trainings have been included to help districts/schools focus on specific areas of need.

In addition to the Menu of Services for face-to-face trainings, a new online course catalog is now available. These online courses are also offered free of charge to help support educators as they strive to improve student achievement. Registration is now open for the Full Fall and Fall I terms which begin on August 1. These courses are designed to only take 30 minutes each week, making them ideal for content-focused team meetings.

Click here to access both the Menu of Services and Online Course Catalog as well as the Professional Development Request Form. Be aware that all requests (including online courses) must be approved by an administrator.
