The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) invites public comment to amend the state’s Consolidated State Plan, also known as Mississippi Succeeds, as required under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), 1965, amended as the Every Student Succeeds Act in 2015.
The amendment addresses two main areas:
- Clarifications to school performance and accountability procedures
- Proposed changes to the exit criteria for Title I Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (ATSI) schools that escalate to Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) schools in the Fall of 2023 and thereafter.
The purpose for this amendment is to clarify language and include changes to the active amendment that was submitted to the US Department of Education in April of 2023. The changes were added to Title I, Part A. The table below identifies the topic of additional red-lined information and the corresponding page number within the consolidated state plan.
