MDE Approved Specialized Early Childhood Training Program

Greetings Superintendents, Curriculum Coordinators, Federal Programs Directors, Special Education Directors, and Principals:

Please see the information below regarding the MDE two-week early childhood training scheduled for this summer.

Approved Specialized Early Childhood Training Program
June 18th – 22nd  and June 25th – 29th, 2018
8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. each day
Biloxi, Greenville, Hattiesburg, Jackson, Meridian, and Oxford

This training is offered to teachers and assistants that need to acquire the twelve hours of approved early childhood coursework to teach in PreK classrooms. The completion of this training program will be the equivalent of twelve hours of coursework needed for pre-k general education and special education teachers and assistants who are lacking an emphasis in early childhood. Completion of this training program includes boot camp participation, completion of two online courses, and submission of all assignments.

This training will also meet the requirements of professional development for administrators of PreK classrooms for the 2018-19 school year. Below is a graphic to help determine if who should attend the Approved Specialized Early Childhood Training Program.

All participants must select one site for the entire training.  The last day to register is Friday, June 8, 2018.
