MAGNOLIA (Mississippi Alliance for Gaining New Opportunities Through Library Information Access) is a statewide consortium that provides free online databases and open access educational resources for K-12 schools. MAGNOLIA is grouped by different grade levels to ensure that all students have access to appropriate materials. Resources include a variety of EBSCOhost databases such as History Reference Center, Newspaper Source, and TopicSearch as well as online sites like iCivics, Library of Congress, Mississippi Encyclopedia, and Science News. Many of the databases include lesson plans, quizzes, and writing prompts that connect to the Mississippi College-and Career-Readiness Standards for teachers to use to help support learning in and out of the classroom.
