Literacy coach, coordinator EIR positions available; Apply by Nov. 24

The Mississippi Department of Education, Office of Curriculum and Instruction, Division of Literacy, is seeking highly qualified applicants for kindergarten through third-grade Literacy Coach and Regional Literacy Coordinator Educator in Residence (EIR) positions.

The Division of Literacy is responsible for supporting and training kindergarten through third-grade teachers, curriculum specialists, and other educators by providing evidence-based instructional strategies for literacy. Passed during the 2013 legislative session, the Literacy-Based Promotion Act (LBPA) places an emphasis on grade-level reading skills, particularly as students progress through kindergarten through third grades. The deadline for receipt of applications is on or before Monday, Nov. 24, at 2 p.m., Central Standard Time (CST).
